Job summary

Manor Lake Snellville is seeking a patient care assistant to support residents under nursing supervision. You will assist with daily bathing, grooming, meals, movements, and basic room care while maintaining dignity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include recording vital signs, updating care plans, reporting changes, providing light housekeeping, and participating in required training to ensure safety and quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Read, write, speak and understand English.
• Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, patience, and good interpersonal skills.
• Experience with geriatric nursing preferred.
• CPR certification and basic first aid knowledge are desirable.
• Knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily bathing and grooming, dressing, and basic room care.
• Record vital signs, weight, and other observations; monitor for skin breakdowns; report changes promptly.
• Prepare residents for meals and assist after meals.
• Complete required training and participate in orientation and staff meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality and promote residents’ rights and dignity.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; inventory resident possessions and report equipment issues.
• Provide table service during meals and light housekeeping in resident apartments.
• Follow infection control and safety rules; document restraints and report violations.
• Attend orientation and mandatory training activities; interact professionally with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by management.
