Job summary

Abound Health in New Jersey is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD. As a DSP you will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently.

If you are compassionate and reliable, this is meaningful work. Starting pay is $23/hour for non-acuity and $33/hour for acuity, plus a $1,000 signing bonus paid when averaging 20+ hours per week in three installments.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs

Responsibilities

• Building positive relationships and supporting individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assisting with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Supporting individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Using adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encouraging independence and helping individuals develop new skills
• Monitoring health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicating with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.) as needed
• Completing documentation and maintaining schedules
• Completing in ongoing training and professional development
