Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Irvington, NJ to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD. You will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently.

Paid onboarding and growth opportunities are available. Starting pay is $23/hour non-acuity and $33/hour acuity with a $1,000 signing bonus paid in installments when averaging 20+ hours/week.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required depending on client needs.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meals, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and case managers as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Engage in ongoing training and professional development.
