Job summary

Abound Health in Somerset, NJ is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD. You will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to help clients live more independently.

Starting pay ranges from $23/hour for non-acuity to $33/hour for acuity, with a $1,000 signing bonus paid in installments for averaging 20+ hours per week. We offer paid onboarding, training, weekly pay, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal and driving record checks and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required depending on client needs.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities is not required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.).
• Complete documentation and maintaining schedules.
• Complete ongoing training and professional development.
