Job summary

Abound Health is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support to individuals with IDD in Wilmington, NC. The DSP role includes helping with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to foster independence.

We offer paid training, flexible schedules (full-time and part-time), weekly pay, a $1,000 signing bonus, and growth opportunities within a mission-driven company with 20+ years in the I/DD space.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required – we provide paid training and support

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties as needed
• Complete documentation and maintaining schedules
• Complete ongoing training and professional development
