Job summary

Northeast Arc in Stoneham, MA seeks a part-time Driver to provide safe, timely transportation for individuals served from their homes to day programs and other authorized locations. You will also assist with compiling documents related to Northeast Arc policies and regulations, reporting to the Director of Transportation.

Responsibilities include safely transporting clients in various vehicles, assisting with wheelchair transfers, performing routine vehicle checks, and supporting enrollment in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience with an acceptable driving record; must be 19 years of age.
• Desire and ability to work with and support individuals with disabilities.
• Working knowledge of MA State and Federal driving laws; MART regulations preferred.
• Ability to use smartphones, GPS/map software, PCs, and Microsoft Office programs.
• Valid MA driver’s license and 3 years of driving experience in the USA with acceptable record.
• Physical ability to drive, enter/exit vehicles, lift up to 50 lbs.
• CorI, SORI, and fingerprint checks required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely transportation for individuals from their homes to day programs and/or other locations.
• Assist with compiling documents related to Northeast Arc policies and DDS/MART regulations.
• Safely assist individuals while entering, exiting, and moving around vehicles.
• Move individuals in wheelchairs and operate the wheelchair lift.
• Perform general routine vehicle maintenance.
• Clear snow and ice from and around vehicles as needed.
• Safely operate various vehicles including minivans, SUVs, 15-passenger and wheelchair vans.
