The Arc Southern Chesapeake is seeking a Van Driver to provide reliable and courteous transportation for individuals supported by the agency. You will operate vans, assist passengers, and plan routes, while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety.

The role involves direct support duties, crisis intervention, and adherence to all regulations. Strong communication, documentation, and basic computer skills are required, along with a valid Maryland driver’s license and ability to pass a DOT

Qualifikationen

• Graduation from accredited high school or GED.
• Three years of driving experience; CDL license preferred but not required.
• Adequate vision and hearing to supervise the passengers and respond to emergencies.

Aufgaben

• Operates assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
• Assists passengers in and out of the vehicle; operates ramps, lifts and tie down devices as necessary.
• Reads and interprets maps and driving directions to plan efficient routes; reads road signs in English.
• Keeps the assigned vehicle clean inside and outside.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks on assigned vehicle; fuels the vehicle.
• Responds to accidents or medical emergencies by notifying emergency responders and providing First Aid.
• Supports consumers as Direct Support staff; crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Implements behavior plans and documents related records; participates in meetings.
• Maintains records, trip sheets, and reports; ensures confidentiality.
