Job summary

Voluntary Action Center is seeking a Dispatcher & Scheduler to coordinate safe, reliable transportation for individuals and communities. This part-time role runs Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, focusing on scheduling rides, guiding Vehicle Operators, and adjusting routes as plans change.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills, with comfort using computers and learning new software. Spanish-speaking ability is strongly desired.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Comfortable using computers and learning new software.
• Spanish-speaking ability is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule passenger trips.
• Help clients access reliable transportation services.
• Monitor daily routes and make adjustments as needs change.
• Communicate with clients, Vehicle Operators, medical offices, and community partners.
• Respond to delays, cancellations, vehicle issues, and other service needs.
• Support Vehicle Operators with clear directions and schedule updates.
• Help coordinate rider accommodations and individual service needs.
• Maintain accurate trip, rider, and transportation records.
• Support the Transportation team with daily operations and documentation.
• Occasionally provide driving coverage when needed.
