Job summary

Whole Life is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to join our team in Connecticut. DSPs provide person-centered care to adults with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities, supporting ADLs, promoting independence, and assisting in daily living tasks and community activities.

This full-time role includes 32 weekly hours, a rotating schedule with evenings and weekends, paid orientation and training, and benefits like dental and health insurance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; proof needed.
• Proof of valid driver's license, social security card, birth certificate, or passport.
• Background check, safe driving record, and Abuse Registry Check; Fit for Duty physical and TB test within 30 days.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs unassisted and perform physical tasks.
• Must document care in English and communicate with clients and co-workers in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and choice-making to promote independence
• Use mobility equipment (e.g., Hoyer lifts) with proper techniques
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
• Implement individualized care plans
