Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Raleigh, NC. This part-time role focuses on helping individuals with IDD complete daily living tasks, manage personal care, and participate in community activities.

You will work in the client’s home and community, with after-school and weekend hours. Training is provided; reliable transportation is required to support scheduling and appointments.

Qualifications

• Education: A High school diploma or GED is required.
• Entry-level role with on-the-job training provided.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and community they live in.
• Assist with daily tasks such as housekeeping, meal prep, cooking and cleaning; personal care like bathing and dressing; employment support.
• Transport client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the client's schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
