Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Williamston, NC to assist individuals with IDD in their homes and community settings. This part-time role covers afternoons, evenings, and some weekends, with local travel to client homes and community locations.

You will help with daily tasks, personal care, meal prep, housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and schedule planning.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Reliable transportation, driver's license, and current auto insurance are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning; personal care such as bathing and dressing, toiletry and changing diapers; as well as employment support.
• May transport the client to appointments and run errands.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
