Job summary

Venture Community Services Inc. is seeking a Part-time Direct Support Professional to assist developmentally disabled individuals in residential and community settings. You will monitor health and safety, provide daytime and overnight support, and implement Individual Support Plans under supervision.

Responsibilities include safe transfers, meal prep, transportation assistance, and documentation. A valid driver’s license and flexible weekend hours are required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver's license.
• Daily use of a car on site is preferred but not required.
• Must be available by telephone for daily contact.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to advocate and establish rapport with the disabled population, their families, coworkers and service providers.
• Complete Agency Orientation and maintain certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health and safety of individuals.
• Safely evacuate individuals during fire or disaster.
• Assist with transfers and mobility for various weights.
• Educate and supervise self-medication programs.
• Assist with medical appointments and transportation.
• Assist with meals, finances, and shopping.
• Maintain records and daily data.
• Perform housekeeping and maintenance of residence.
• Attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
