Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. in Centerville, IA seeks a Direct Care Worker (non-meds) to provide direct care to community residents, assisting with daily living activities, housekeeping, laundry, and mealtime services as directed by the Executive Director.

The role involves assisting residents in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, mobility with a gait belt, documenting care, maintaining a clean med room, and participating in shift reports.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to work rotating weekends and holidays.
• Must complete in-service education per community requirements.
• Ability to assist residents with activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in and out of bed and into wheelchair according to procedure.
• Assist residents in bathing.
• Assist residents in dressing or undressing.
• Assist resident to bathroom and provide peri care as needed.
• Take and record vital signs of residents according to community schedule and policies.
• Provide housekeeping/cleaning services as required and scheduled by the Executive Director.
• Provide laundry and linen service as required and deliver all resident laundry as designated.
• May be required to document and/or report information regarding residents as instructed.
