Job summary

Midwest Health is seeking a Direct Care Worker to provide direct care for community residents, primarily assisting with activities of daily living. The role includes housekeeping, laundry, meal service, and duties assigned by the Executive Director. Availability for rotating weekends and holidays is required.

The position requires assisting residents with mobility, bathing, dressing, peri care, and monitoring vital signs according to schedules and policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Employee must be available to work rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Assist residents in and out of bed and into wheelchair, bathing, dressing and peri care.
• Take and record vital signs per schedule.
• Provide meals assistance in dining area and assist with feeding if needed.
• Perform housekeeping, laundry, and general community maintenance tasks.
• Document and report resident information prior to leaving shift.
• Ensure med room is clean and orderly.
• Provide shift reports on resident status.
