Job summary

Midwest Health Inc. in Centerville, IA seeks a Direct Care Worker to provide direct care to residents, assist with activities of daily living, housekeeping, laundry, and mealtime service under the supervision of the Executive Director.

You will help residents transfer, bathe, dress, monitor vital signs, document care, and ensure safety. Weekend and holiday availability is required, and basic computer skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be able to work beyond normal hours and on weekends/holidays when necessary.
• Must have basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in and out of bed and to wheelchair using gait belt.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and peri care.
• Record vital signs according to schedule and policies.
• Provide meals assistance and mealtime service as needed.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services as scheduled by leadership.
• Document and report information regarding residents prior to leaving shift.
• Maintain med room in clean/orderly condition.
• Complete shift reports on resident status.
