Job summary

Willow Springs Center in Reno, NV is hiring a full-time Dietary Cook to support patient, staff, and visitor meal preparation. The role involves ordering, planning, prepping, cooking, inventory, and sanitation with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for coverage.

You will work with the dietary team to learn menus, ensure safety, and maintain equipment. High school diploma and ServSafe certification within 30 days are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year of demonstrated responsible food service experience preparing bulk meals.
• ServSafe certification acquired within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates kitchen equipment and demonstrates methods of sanitary food preparation, cooking, and baking.
• Supports the dietary department in preparation of food for patients, staff and visitors.
• Participates in ordering, planning, prepping, cooking, inventory management, staff oversight, sanitation and cleaning.
• Learns menu items, departmental organization and staff safety in coordination with the Department Manager and Lead.
• Maintains and cleans kitchen appliances and reports issues for repair as needed.
