Job summary

Horizon Recuperative Care in El Monte, CA is seeking a Cook to assist the Culinary Services Director in preparing nutritious, visually appealing meals for residents, families, and guests while ensuring safety and sanitation per regulations. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of kitchen experience.

Candidates should have or obtain a Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire and may be required to obtain First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare salads, desserts, and meals for residents, families, and guests.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment and maintain sanitation practices.
• Read production sheets and follow menus accurately.
• Maintain timely work pace and regular attendance.
• Assist Culinary Services Director and contribute to a team environment.
• Check delivered food orders against invoices and stock correctly.
• Be available for weekend coverage and rotating on-call as needed.
