Job summary

Community Eldercare Services (CES) is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our growing team. You will prepare meals according to resident diet specifications and menus, review menus, and supervise dietary staff to ensure quality and safety.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, a short certificate is a plus, and 3–6 months in food prep. We offer medical, dental, vision and life insurance, a 401K, and growth opportunities in a compassionate, home‑like environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred.
• 3–6 months related experience in food preparation or equivalent education/experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service-focused with an outgoing personality.
• Ability to multi-task and manage detail-oriented tasks.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to resident diet specifications, menus, and facility procedures.
• Review menus prior to food preparation and ensure accurate portioning.
• Direct and assist dietary staff in food preparation, serving, and cleaning.
• Ensure sanitation of dishes, utensils, work areas, and equipment.
• Check meal trays for accuracy with diet cards.
• Maintain proper storage of foods and supplies, ensuring readiness for upcoming meals.
• Assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies.
• Review diet changes and adjust menus as necessary.
• Collaborate with Dietary Manager and team to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient kitchen.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
