Job summary

Horizon Recuperative Care in the San Gabriel Valley seeks a dedicated Cook to support resident nutrition and well-being in El Monte, CA. Join a compassionate, patient-centered team that prioritizes safe food handling and high-quality meals.

Responsibilities include following menus, maintaining a safe kitchen, managing inventory, and collaborating with the Culinary Lead. Food Handlers or ServSafe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Cook/Dietary experience in healthcare facilities preferred.
• Experience cooking large quantities.
• Food Handlers or Serv Safe certification is required or preferred.
• Experience with nutrition-focused meal planning and dietary restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe culinary environment with strict infection control.
• Keep kitchen and equipment clean and organized; ensure safe food temperatures.
• Prepare meals according to provided menus and residents' needs.
• Assist in Health Department inspections as needed with Lead or Manager.
• Report shortages and equipment issues to Culinary Lead promptly.
• May work extra shifts or special occasions; early morning or evening hours possible.
