Job summary

MediLodge of Gaylord is seeking a Dietary Cook Aide who blends culinary skills with compassionate care for residents. You will assist with meal preparation and service, following safe food handling techniques and therapeutic diets as prescribed.

We value detail-oriented team players with food service experience; ServSafe certification is preferred. The role offers daily or weekly pay options and a supportive environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques.
• Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and/or pre-portions food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
• Utilizes standardized recipes to prepare menu items and ensures food is served attractively.
• Ensures meals and snacks are delivered on time and properly portioned.
• Maintains proper food temperatures during preparation and service.
• Serves resident meals/snacks according to diet orders and preferences.
• Labels, dates, and stores food; monitors temperatures and logs.
• Keeps work area clean and uncluttered; assists with dishwashing and equipment maintenance.
• Supports receiving, storing, and verifying invoices; assists in stocking and inventory.
