Job summary

Newark Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to assist in meal prep and serving, ensuring meals meet dietary guidelines and residents' nutritional needs. The role supports the dietary staff and promotes health through proper nutrition.

The ideal candidate will maintain cleanliness, assist with inventory, and communicate dietary concerns to residents and staff. On-the-job training is provided; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Understanding of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, portioning, and serving of meals and snacks according to menus and guidelines.
• Ensure food is served at correct temperature and appealingly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and dining areas per health regs.
• Set up and cleanup dining areas before and after meals; wash dishes and equipment.
• Serve residents with consideration for dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Monitor and record food and fluid intake as needed.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and restocking supplies.
• Help train new staff and ensure safety practices.
• Communicate dietary concerns to residents, families, and staff.
• Participate in team meetings and meal planning activities.
