Job summary

Las Cruces Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist in the preparation, service, and cleanup of meals for patients and staff in our nursing center. The role supports the cook and follows center procedures for nourishments, desserts, salads, and beverages, using production sheets or guidelines as directed.

Strong verbal and written communication, along with basic sanitation and safety knowledge, are required.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
• Prior experience in food service preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of tasks not requiring cooking skills in preparation, service, and cleanup for meals served to patients and staff.
• Assists cook as directed by the food service director.
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages.
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
