Job summary

Southwest Nursing Center seeks a dietary aide to support meal preparation and service for patients and staff. You will assist the cook, label nourishments, portion desserts and salads, and ensure beverages are prepared as directed. Follow production sheets and guidelines to maintain quality and safety.

Good communication skills, basic understanding of sanitation and safety, and prior food service or long-term care experience are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
• Prior experience in food service preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook as directed by the food service director.
• Prepare and label nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepare and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages.
• Follow production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
