Job summary

Emerald Nursing & Rehab Brookside in Lincoln, NE is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support the dietary team by preparing meals, serving residents, and ensuring dietary needs are met according to care plans. The role operates 4p-8p with every other weekend in a skilled nursing facility.

You will maintain kitchen cleanliness, follow safety standards, and collaborate with nurses and caregivers to provide high-quality nutrition and friendly service to residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food service or healthcare setting is a plus but not required.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation: assist with preparing meals according to menus and dietary guidelines.
• Food service: serve meals and beverages, ensuring proper temperature and presentation.
• Dietary compliance: follow dietary restrictions and keep records of special needs.
• Communication: report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff.
• Inventory management: assist with stocking and reporting shortages or expired items.
• Resident interaction: engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Team collaboration: work with dietary staff, nurses, and caregivers.
• Compliance: follow facility policies and safety procedures.
