Job summary

Waystone Health & Human Services in Haverhill, MA is seeking a Developmental Specialist to support individuals with developmental disabilities, delivering hands-on training and creating personalized support plans. This part-time role guides participants toward independence and community inclusion at our Day Habilitation Program.

The position offers a 35-hour framework, union membership with SEIU Local 509, and a benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, plus paid time off

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in training or support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow care plans and document services.
• CPR/First Aid training (provided within 3 months).
• Valid Driver's License with at least one year of driving experience.
• Complete mandatory training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct care and support based on individual medical, physical, and behavioral needs.
• Implement and monitor individualized support plans, behavior strategies, and medical protocols
• Accurately implement crisis intervention strategies, behavior support plans, and medical protocols.
• Facilitate skill development and goal achievement as outlined in individual support plans, monitoring progress and adjusting approaches as needed.
• Complete all required documentation in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner, ensuring clarity and relevance for regulatory review.
