Job summary

Brookdale Senior Living is seeking caregivers to provide dementia care and engage residents through person-centered activities in a community setting. You’ll support daily living activities, monitor health and well-being, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and high-quality care.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and some experience with older adults living with dementia.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 3–6 months related experience preferred and/or training in direct service with older adults living with dementia.
• Knowledge of dementia, particularly Alzheimer’s type.
• In accordance with state law, may need current state certification and follow regulations to maintain current certification.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; communicate effectively in English with residents and associates.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming and eating.
• Provides dementia care following a person-centered service plan and engages residents through daily programs.
• Maintains accurate resident records and reports changes in health or behavior to the supervisor.
• Supports safe and clean environments; follows safety and infection control guidelines.
• Participates in team meetings and collaborates with colleagues to ensure high-quality care.
