Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide/Cook to assist with meal preparation and serving in a long-term care setting. You will support the cook, prepare meals per guidelines, and help ensure residents receive nutritionally balanced options.

Roles include tray delivery, cooking assistance, sanitation, and adherence to safety standards. Ideal candidates have at least one year in institutional food service and familiarity with long-term care diets.

Qualifications

• Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
• A minimum of one (1) year institutional food service experience as a cook.
• Experience in long term care food production is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist cook in meal preparation for patients/residents, including salads, desserts, snacks, and between-meal nourishments.
• Serve nourishments according to procedural guidelines.
• Properly store leftovers and opened food.
• Record menu substitutions as directed by guidelines.
• Deliver trays to patients/residents on halls and in dining area.
• Clean tables in the dining area after each meal.
• Maintain dishwashing/food preparation areas and assist with equipment cleaning.
