Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a part-time Cook - Dietary Aide to support our dietary services. The role assists with meal preparation, tray setup, and serving to residents, while following established recipes and ensuring meals meet nutritional and safety standards.

The Dietary Aide will help maintain clean work areas, follow infection control procedures, and assist with inventory and record-keeping as part of daily kitchen operations. Prior long-term care food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
• A minimum of one (1) year institutional food service experience as a cook.
• Experience in long term care food production is preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and prepare meals in institutional quantities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and serving for patients/residents.
• Prepare trays and assist with meal service and nourishment between meals.
• Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation.
• Record temperatures and ensure compliance with safety and infection control policies.
• Support kitchen staff and supervise assistants as directed.
