Job summary

Masonicare Bishop Wicke in Shelton, CT, seeks a CNA for day shift responsibilities under licensed nurse supervision. You will provide basic nursing care, assist with meals, transfers, hygiene and activities as part of a care team.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and CT CNA certification (or within 120 days). Previous CNA experience preferred and English communication skills required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months - 1 year experience as a CNA preferred.
• State of Connecticut CNA Certification; or within 120 days of CNA Certification course completion.
• Ability to interact professionally with coworkers.
• Prioritize tasks and function as a team member.
• Ability to speak and read English to communicate with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Observes and communicates pertinent information about patient condition to staff.
• Takes and records pulse, respirations, BP and weight as needed.
• Documents care and observations on worksheets and EMR.
• Adheres to infection control practices and facility policies.
• Supports residents' psychosocial needs per the plan of care.
• Attends mandatory education programs and meets CE requirements.
• Complies with the Diligent Minimal Lift Program standards.
• Performs other duties as required.
