Responsibilities

• Assist in admitting patients to the unit and orient them to the unit, routine and equipment.
• Respond to patient needs with direct assistance or by reporting to the appropriate person.
• Carry out delegated patient care tasks as part of the nursing plan of care.
• Maintain patient safety and proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Retrieve patient care items from the medication/supply room as needed.
• Keep the patient environment clean and well-stocked.
• Participate in cost containment and accurate charging for patient services.
• Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
