Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current registration with North Carolina Division of Facility Services.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
• Excellent guest relations skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to accept supervision from a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexible in approach to work tasks and schedules.
• Able to grasp new skills and techniques.
• Has basic knowledge of age-specific considerations for patients served.
• Has basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in admission of patients to the unit, including orientation to the unit and hospital routines.
• Respond to patient needs with direct assistance or by reporting to the appropriate person.
• Assist with implementing the nursing plan of care by carrying out delegated tasks.
• Maintain patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Access medication/supply room to retrieve patient care items.
• Keep the patient environment clean and well-stocked.
• Contribute to cost containment and accurate charging for patient services.
• Participate in educational and Performance Improvement activities.
• Maintain required unit competency skills.
• Perform waived testing per unit competency.
• Support hospital capacity and patient throughput initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.
