Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Peoria, IL to assist RNs in delivering patient care. You will perform hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and elimination tasks, monitor patient status, and help with admissions and discharges.

You’ll work to ensure safety, comfort, and high patient satisfaction under supervision. Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, CNA certification, BLS within 30 days, CPI training within 3 months, and CNA coursework or HCT program

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days (American Heart Association)
• CPI Training within 3 months
• HS Diploma or GED required
• Successful completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program or CNA coursework within the past 24 months
• CNA certification
• At least one nursing clinical semester
• Experience as CNA within past 24 months

Responsibilities

• Provide hygiene needs of assigned patients (AM/PM care, oral and denture care, perineal care, bathing, hair care, TED/SCD management)
• Distribute and set up meals; offer supplements and assist feeding; record intake
• Assist with elimination (Foley care, bowel/bladder management; record output)
• Provide skin care (turning, positioning, preventing breakdown, bed care)
• Offer comfort measures and positioning; ensure supplies within reach
• Assist with mobility and activity (dangling, ambulation with walker/crutches)
• Take measurements (vital signs, I&O, weights, etc.)
• Perform simple tasks after training under nurse supervision (catheterization, dressings)
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges; complete admission process
• Prepare and organize equipment; handle patient belongings
• Support patient satisfaction and maintain clean, safe environments
• Respond promptly to alarms/call lights; maintain privacy and documentation
