Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a patient care associate to support daily nursing tasks in a hospital setting. You will assist with bathing, feeding, mobility, and routine care, while ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR and proper patient safety practices.

Under RN supervision, you will participate in admissions, transfers and discharges, collect specimens, stock areas, and help with routine patient transports and care needs according to age-specific requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Certification Addendum required.
• Team members must maintain annual hospital-based education requirements (DNV, CARF or others).

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care (bathing, hygiene, feeding, positioning).
• Record vitals and input/output accurately in EMR.
• Perform purposeful rounds and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Collect urine, stool, and sputum samples and perform point‑of‑care testing as needed.
• Run errands, stock nursing areas and maintain equipment.
• Support patient positioning and safe transfers.
• Maintain skin integrity and monitor patient needs per age-specific guidelines.
