Job summary

St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children is seeking a Certified Nurses Aide to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed staff.

The role emphasizes safe care delivery, adherence to care plans, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in a pediatric setting. Requirements include a High School Diploma, completion of a 100-hour CNA program, NY CNA certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of 100 hours Nurses Aide Training Program.
• Certified Nurses Aide (CNA) by State of NY and BLS certification.
• One year medical-surgical/pediatrics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers quality and safe resident care under supervision of licensed staff.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and reports observations.
• Assists in direct resident care per care plan and documents vital data.
• Ensures residents are neatly groomed and appropriately dressed.
• Promotes independence with activities of daily living.
• Maintains clean, organized resident environment and monitors safety.
• Assists with feeding as per care plan and monitors nutrition/hydration.
• Reports changes to staff nurse promptly and communicates during shift handovers.
