Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Certified Medical Surgical Patient Care Assistant for the night shift at 2800 E. Ajo Way, Tucson. You will provide basic patient care, assist with daily living activities, collect specimens, and document in the electronic medical record while supporting a fast-paced team environment.

Your role emphasizes patient comfort, accurate data collection, and collaboration with licensed professionals to ensure quality care during night shifts and rotating weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current CNA in state of practice for Tucson.
• 1 year of medical clerical experience or customer service.
• Excellent organizational, human relations and communication skills.
• Medical terminology knowledge and computer literacy.
• ECG/EEG interpretation proficiency or training required.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and contribute to the patient plan of care.
• Collect patient data including vitals and input/output and document in the medical record.
• Report abnormalities to a licensed professional and communicate status to care team.
• Assist with procedures and use equipment under supervision of licensed staff.
• Perform receptionist/clerical duties and support department workflow.
• Maintain patient records and supply levels, and manage chart forms and ECG/EEG-related tasks.
• Assist with patient transport and OR room turnover as needed.
