Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by taking vital signs, assisting patients with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean, safe unit environment. You will also help stock supplies and operate basic hospital equipment as directed.

The role requires CNA certification or enrollment in an accredited nursing program with at least one clinical semester, BLS certification, and adherence to safety and workplace policies.

Qualifications

• Must be Certified Nursing Assistant or enrolled in an accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire (American Heart Association).
• Approved workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload; must work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs and assist with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment and stock supplies.
• Assist with stocking unit supplies and operating hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and assist with other related duties as assigned.
