Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan Society provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision in a long-term care setting. The role involves helping residents with daily activities, documenting care, and supporting the care plan to ensure comfort and safety.

The position requires CNA certification and a minimum age of 16. It includes responsibilities such as assisting with meals, mobility, vital signs, and following infection prevention policies;

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
• Maintains continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually).
• Medically qualified to perform essential driving functions per policy.

Responsibilities

• The NA serves as caregiver to residents during the scheduled work period.
• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Assists with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
• Records vital signs and communicates changing conditions to the charge nurse.
• Supports wellness and recreational programs and participates in committees as needed.
