Job summary

WHITE POINT CARE CENTER LLC in San Pedro, CA is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide resident care aligned with Nursing Standards and OBRA regulations. You will work under the Charge Nurse and Director of Staff Development to support resident well-being.

The role involves reporting to shifts, performing CNA duties, monitoring vitals, and assisting with ADLs while maintaining Resident Rights and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Certified by the State of California as a Certified Nursing Assistant and maintains current certification.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to write information in English.
• Must be able to perform any physical requirement of the position which includes lifting 40 pounds.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Has the desire to care for people, especially the elderly and/or chronically ill.

Responsibilities

• Reports to assigned station and/or charge nurse at the beginning of each scheduled work day.
• Performs all functions within the CNA scope of practice; requests assistance for unfamiliar tasks.
• Performs resident cares using safe techniques and mindful of Residents' Rights.
• Complies with facility rules, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Reports changes in resident condition to the charge nurse and documents per protocol.
• Supports teamwork and assists other CNAs; responds to call lights and covers breaks.
• Maintains a courteous and professional demeanor with residents and staff.
• Maintains CPR status and completes required education hours.
• Reports for work as scheduled and notifies staffing when unavailable.
• Goes through each resident’s room to provide hand-off and ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Adheres to dress code and attends mandatory meetings.
• Keeps knowledge of resident needs from POC Kardex and care plans.
