Job summary

Good Samaritan in De Smet, SD is hiring a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide resident-centered care in long-term care under RN supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, vital signs, and comfort needs while maintaining safety and quality care standards.

Shifts vary and may include nights and weekends with a FLEX premium and weekend differential; wage range is $19.00–$25.50 per hour, plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Full benefits available for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or in the process of obtaining certification within four months.
• CNA training and certification provided by facility.
• Annual competency testing and continuing education credits required.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance as assigned.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, transfers and mobility.
• Record vital signs and report changes to the charge nurse.
• Follow infection prevention and PPE use policies.
• Assist with meals and dining; document resident interactions.
