Job summary

The Good Samaritan in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will support daily living activities, observe residents, and report changes to the RN, following care plans and infection prevention policies.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, documenting care, and participating in wellness activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board required or enrollment in a program.
• Annual competency testing and a minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually.
• Possible Sanford Driver status requiring a valid driver’s license where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered care under the supervision of an RN.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility and meals.
• Document resident interactions and vital signs; communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers using proper techniques and perform range-of-motion exercises.
• Support wellness and recreational activities and participate in committees as needed.
