Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the certification board.
• Graduate of a state approved CNA training program and passed a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered in state nurse aide registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and lift equipment.
• Respond promptly to call lights, resident needs, and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity, while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and in accordance with facility procedures.
• Follow infection control, safety, and universal precautions at all times.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive living environment.
• Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
• Provide postmortem care.
• Contributes to the resident’s assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care.
