Job summary

Ciena Healthcare in Michigan is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to care for residents under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. You will assist with ADLs, monitor safety, and support licensed staff to deliver individualized care in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant certification or approved training program completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and lift equipment.
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity, while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility procedures.
• Follow infection control, safety, and universal precautions at all times.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive living environment.
• Maintains a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
• Provides postmortem care.
• Make routine rounds on each assigned resident every two hours.
• Provides skin care and observes residents’ skin; report changes to licensed nurse.
