Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents under physician orders, and under supervision by nursing leadership.

Responsibilities include documenting, labeling, and safely handling medications per Community policies, while maintaining resident privacy and dignity. Applicants must hold a valid CMA certification, possess basic computer skills, and communicate effectively in English with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have CMA certification in good standing with the State.
• Basic computer skills are required to document care and medication administration.
• Proficiency in English for communication with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering medications to residents as ordered by the physician.
• Follow nursing standards and Community policies for medication handling and documentation.
• Maintain medication cart/room and ensure proper labeling, storage, and dating of medications.
• Document and report errors or refusals of medication promptly.
• Protect resident privacy and obtain signed orders before administering medications.
• Assist in self-administration monitoring and report refill needs.
• Follow safety precautions and use protective equipment as required.
• Observe residents for reactions and report them immediately to RCC/Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
• Ensure compliance with policies during medication receipt, storage, and disposal.
