Job summary

Chandler Healthcare Center in Chandler, OK is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to administer prescribed medications, assist with daily living activities, and monitor residents for side effects.

The CMA will document medication administration, maintain HIPAA-compliant records, assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with licensed nurses to ensure safe, compassionate care in a residential setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CNA certification (state requirement).
• Current CMA certification.
• CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required).
• Knowledge of medication administration and safety.
• Ability to safely lift and assist residents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications according to physician orders and facility policies, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of medication administration and patient records, adhering to facility protocols and HIPAA regulations.
• Monitor patients for medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, or changes in condition, reporting concerns to licensed nurses and providing compassionate care.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating, as needed, promoting independence and dignity.
• Measure and record vital signs when required, maintaining accurate records and reporting any changes or concerns to licensed nurses.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning of residents, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked medication carts and supplies, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
• Prioritize patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations, maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor at all times.
• Follow established protocols for medication administration, infection control, and safety, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Respond promptly to resident needs and emergency situations, providing compassionate and timely care.
