Job summary

Assisting Hands St George is seeking weekend caregivers to provide compassionate in-home support. You’ll assist with personal care, mobility, meal prep, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and companionship, ensuring safety and dignity for clients in Vermont.

Ideal candidates are reliable, patient communicators who can follow care plans, document care, and support clients including those with dementia.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old and dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• CPR & First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 2 weeks.
• Reliable transportation, valid insurance, and good driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and TB test within 2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting).
• Helping with mobility and safe transfers.
• Meal preparation and nutritional support.
• Medication reminders.
• Light housekeeping and laundry.
• Providing companionship and emotional support.
• Transportation to appointments, errands, and social activities.
• Supporting clients living with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
• Documenting care using AxisCare app.
• Following all safety and infection-control policies.
