Job summary

StoryPoint in Urbandale, IA is seeking a Caregiver/Medication Manager to provide compassionate daily care to residents and assist with medication administration in our community.

The role requires empathy for the elderly, ability to pass meds per protocol, and collaboration with nursing staff. On-site training for Medication Manager certification is available; CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to obtain Medication Manager certification on-site at community if not already certified.
• Previous healthcare, geriatrics or experience working with the elderly population preferred.
• Desire to work with geriatric population.
• Training per state requirements.
• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Bathe and clean residents as needed.
• Follow medication administration protocols for each resident.
• Assist in grooming and personal care for residents.
• Make beds, change linens, and keep rooms tidy.
• Answer emergency calls promptly.
• Assist residents with bathroom needs as directed and monitor continence.
• Record vital signs and report unusual findings to nurse or Executive Director.
