Job summary

Grand Living at Tower Place in West Des Moines, IA, seeks a Certified Medication Aide to deliver compassionate, personalized care to residents. You’ll assist with daily living activities, support wellness initiatives, and administer medications safely according to state regulations and care plans.

You’ll collaborate with Health & Wellness, Culinary, Lifestyle, and Hospitality teams to create a First Class Happiness experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medication Aide (CMA) or Medication Technician credentials required as applicable by state and assignment.
• One or more years of experience administering medication preferred.
• One or more years of experience providing assistance with activities of daily living preferred.
• One or more years of experience working with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and genuine desire to enhance residents' lives.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to communicate with residents and staff.
• Ability to stay active during shift and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (dressing, eating, grooming, hygiene, mobility, communication, toileting).
• Support residents per personalized care plans promoting dignity and independence.
• Administer medications safely and accurately within certification and scope.
• Provide medication assistance per state regulations and policies when licensed.
• Observe residents and report changes to nursing team.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families.
• Participate in community activities, wellness programs, dining experiences, and events.
• Collaborate with Health & Wellness, Culinary, Lifestyle, and Hospitality teams to deliver a great resident experience.
• Ensure documentation for all services provided or declined.
