Job summary

StoryPoint in Des Moines, IA is seeking a compassionate Caregiver/Medication Manager to support residents with daily living activities and administer medications per protocol.

You will perform bathing, grooming, mobility assistance, vital signs, and report changes to the nurse, while maintaining dignity and safety. On-site CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtainable; high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to obtain Medication Manager certification on-site if not already certified.
• Previous Healthcare, Geriatrics or experience with the elderly preferred.
• Desire to work with geriatric population.
• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Bathe and clean residents as needed (bed bath, shower or whirlpool).
• Follow medication administration protocols as identified for each resident.
• Assist in grooming and personal care (teeth, hair, nails, makeup, shaving).
• Make beds, change linens, and tidy rooms.
• Answer emergency calls promptly.
• Assist with toileting and mobility; use lifts as needed and ensure safety.
• Take vital signs and report abnormal changes to nurse or Executive Director.
• Provide activity programming and care as assigned.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge preparation.
