Job summary

Independence-Village is seeking a Caregiver/Medication Manager to provide compassionate, hands-on care for residents in a community setting. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, administering medications, and monitoring residents’ health and well-being under supervision.

The role requires CPR/First Aid certification, a high school diploma (GED preferred), and the ability to obtain a Medication Manager certification on-site if not already certified.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to obtain Medication Manager certification on-site at community if not already certified.
• Previous Healthcare, Geriatrics or experience working with the elderly population preferred.
• Desire to work with geriatric population.
• Training per state requirements
• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Bathe and clean residents as needed (bed bath, shower, whirlpool).
• Follow medication administration protocols for each resident.
• Assist in grooming (teeth, hair, nails, makeup, shaving).
• Make beds, change linens, tidy rooms.
• Answer emergency calls promptly.
• Assist residents to the bathroom and manage incontinence care.
• Record vital signs, report abnormal findings to nurse/Executive Director.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and ADLs; use lifting devices when needed.
• Support activity programming and recreational activities for residents.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes and organize belongings.
