Job summary

Independence-Village is seeking a Caregiver/Medication Manager to provide compassionate assistance to residents and manage medications on-site. The role supports daily living activities, personal care, and adherence to medication protocols in a geriatric community.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, grooming, bed mobility, vital signs, and documenting changes in residents' conditions; the position requires compassion, reliability, and ability to respond to emergencies with calmness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to obtain Medication Manager certification on-site at community if not already certified.
• Previous Healthcare, Geriatrics or experience working with the elderly population preferred.
• Desire to work with geriatric population.
• Training per state requirements
• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Bathe and clean, as needed, both male and female residents by bed bath, shower and/or whirlpool.
• Follow medication administration protocols as identified for each individual resident.
• Assist in grooming of both male and female residents (teeth, hair, nails, makeup, shaving).
• Make residents’ beds and change linens as needed, tidy rooms.
• Answer emergency calls promptly.
• Assist residents with bedpan, urinal, and bedside commode or to bathroom as needed.
• Record vital signs and report abnormalities to nurse or Executive Director.
• Report skin breakdown, pressure sores, or changes in condition.
• Assist in transport, ambulation and positioning; use lifting devices when needed.
• Support activity programming and daily living activities.
